During the thirties Escher could afford to Holiday at the Sea. He made beautiful photo’s of his new fiancee Jetta. In the early 20th century photography as a hobby was up and coming. The rise of the affordable, manageable camera made for a whole new type of Photo: the snapshot. And what did you capture? Those happy moments at the beach
During the summer of 2016 we showed a selection of Eschers own photo’s in the Ballroom. With bathing costumes from the 20’s/30’s and visitors could make their own 30’s snapshot at the seaside.
