Dutch sculptor Hans van Bentem designed for the former Royal rooms on the ground and first floor very special chandeliers like a skull, a spider and an umbrella. The objects from the big chandelier in the central hall, the globe, the pair of compasses and the bow are all taken from the white wall decorations in the entrance hall. The light objects in the ground and first floor are one big work of art.
Hans van Bentem also makes chandeliers and sculptures in ceramics and blown glass. For these works of art he uses the skill of traditionally trained craftsmen. The chandeliers have been made by a Czech family company. Van Bentem likes to work with these craftsmen because their long tradition and knowledge permits them to execute his ideas as good as possible.
